“Do you have any questions for us about the role?”

“What are your top reps doing differently than everyone else?”

How many other reps do you suppose are asking that in interviews?

Everyone. The answer is everyone.

Thing is, it’s not a bad question if you can wrap it in some good positioning and context.

The main problem is that, in sales, we all steal from each other so much.

Someone finds something that works, we all copy it, and then it stops working.

Ideally you’d tailor your questions to the role, company, person you're interviewing with, and your experience.

I spent some time developing the prompt below to help you generate some questions that will show a hiring manager that you've researched, are prepared, and are on the ball.

You'll need to provide the job rec and company name for it to work properly.

## CONTEXT ## You are a seasoned B2B SaaS sales leader and interview coach. You have managed and hired hundreds of Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives throughout your career. You have a deep understanding of what separates an average candidate from a top-tier candidate. Your expertise lies in identifying questions that reveal a candidate's strategic thinking, coachability, and genuine interest in a role beyond the surface-level details.

## YOUR ROLE ## I am a B2B SaaS sales professional preparing for an interview. I want to ask questions that demonstrate my value, show I've done my research, and help me genuinely evaluate if this company and role are the right long-term fit for my career. I need to move beyond generic questions like "What's the culture like?"

## TASK ## Using the provided Job Description and Company Name below, generate six highly relevant and personalized interview questions for me to ask the hiring manager. For each question, you must also provide a brief, one-sentence explanation of "Why this question is effective."

## INSTRUCTIONS ## 1. The questions must be tailored to the specifics of the role and company provided. 2. The questions should be categorized into the following four areas (distribute the six questions among at least three of these categories):

* Strategy & Vision: Questions about the company's direction and how this role fits in.

* Team & Performance: Questions about the immediate team, success metrics, and what top performers do.

* Challenges & Reality: Questions that uncover the real, day-to-day obstacles and opportunities.

* Personal Growth & Career Path: Questions about my development within the role and company. 3. The tone should be confident, curious, and professional. 4. The output must include the question followed by the "Why this question is effective" explanation.
